Books 4 Life Groningen

Books 4 Life store is now open in Winkelcentrum Paddepoel!

Books 4 Life is a used bookstore in Groningen, raising money for Amnesty International, Oxfam and other small-scale goodwill projects. All their books are donated, and the store is entirely run by volunteers, so they are able to donate a large part of their turnover to charity.

The Books 4 Life Groningen store was forced to temporarily close its doors in June 2016 and had been looking for a new location. On 14 November 2016 they re-opened their doors in a shop space inside the shopping center, Paddepoel.

They have all sorts of books, in lots of different languages. They have a range of English novels, thrillers, fantasy and science fiction, as well as other foreign-language books. Books range in price from €0,50 to a few euros. The store also has a cozy children’s reading corner, and a collection of children’s books in Dutch and some in English.

You can help support Books 4 Life by donating your own unwanted books. Simply bring your books to the store. If you have a large quantity of books, these can be dropped off via the staff entrance at the back of the building (third door on the left, their logo is on the door and you can just ring the doorbell).

Monday 13:00 to 18:00

Tuesday 10:00 to 18:00

Wednesday 10:00 to 18:00

Thursday 10:00 to 21:00

Friday 10:00 to 18:00

Saturday 10:00 to 18:00

Shopping Sunday 13:00 to 17:00 (the last Sunday of the month)

Free parking for the first 1 ½ hours in the large carpark from the shopping center.

Note: You currently can’t pay by bank card at the store, but there are ATM’s within the shopping center.
