World Cleanup Day – 20 March

World Cleanup Day is a civic movement, uniting 180 countries and millions of people across the world to clean up the planet. In one day. This year it takes place on 20 March 2021.

During this day people throughout the Netherlands will try to pick up as much litter and rubbish as possible in public spaces.
Will you join in?

This world-changing idea began in the small northern European country of Estonia, in 2008. 50,000 people united to clean up the entire country in just five hours. How amazing is that!

You can help clean up by getting outside for some fresh air during the week 20 to 26 March and taking a few minutes to pick up some rubbish. A can, soda bottle, discarded face mask, food wrapper. Every little bit helps, and together we can make a big difference.

Remember to keep to the coronavirus measures. This means that you are allowed to help clean up alone or in groups of no more than 2 people. And to keep 1.5 meter distance from others.
